This story is about Valley Green Farmer's Market with Fern Blauch, and child friend Gideon. She has a rented area there for her baked goods and he has one serving barbecued Chicken which are supposed to be organic and his brother Thomas signed a contract with these people and then Gideon was told that this company was not organic. Causing him to be maybe sent to prison because of false advertisement for serving these chickens to people at the market . Thomas falls off the roof and Gideon cannot save him and feels he's at fault since he couldn't catch him in time. Thomas wife, Nettie and 5 children live with Gideon's family and he feels he should take care of them because of his guilt. Then there's a English family who sells candy there too. Nick is the owner and has a son, Aiden, whose gotten wild but he comes to help Gideon in the market even though Aiden and dad, Nick do not see eye to eye. But with the love and caring of Gideon and Fern, he becomes a hard worker and a value to the service of the market. Gideon feels he cannot date or marry with all the debts from the chicken and paying for his sister-in-law and her children: he does fall in love with Fern but waits to be able to do so. Ends well.

it was a very informational book. It also has experiments. One experiment is haw to make a magnet.
